Osthoff Manor

Haus Osthoff is the oldest house in Dülmen. It is the only building of the former Osthoff manor. The estate was acquired in 1727 by Baroness Anna Maria von Landsberg. She is also considered the builder of the manor house.

The cellar is unusually high and features a cross-rib vault. The brick house exhibits the typical Baroque architectural style of the 18th century. Until the First World War, Haus Osthoff was a popular excursion destination with a beautiful garden and high forest. After the Second World War, it was used as a private residence until the 1960s. Afterwards, however, it lay fallow as a listed ruin and decayed. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was extensively renovated and used as a historical monument.

Since 2002, the building has been the headquarters of Designlager. The planning of the open spaces around the building, in the style of a Baroque, strictly formal garden, was undertaken in 2003 on behalf of Designlager by architect Harald Deilmann from Münster together with Franz Kösters.
