Pesch Manor

The origins of Haus Pesch date back a long way, as it was one of fourteen farms in the Wichterich region that belonged to Prüm Abbey from the 9th to the 13th century. In 1246, these farms, including the presumably already existing Haus Pesch, passed to Kurköln through the Hochstaden donation. The first documented mention occurred in 1447, when Heinrich von Geisbusch sold the estate to Johann von Kinsweiler. The property remained in the possession of his descendants until the 16th century, before changing hands among several Rhenish noble families. In 1708, the estate passed to Baroness Schall von Bell, née von Hompesch-Bollheim.
