Haus Rottels

The origins of Haus Rottels lie in its function as a monastery. Around 1820, the building underwent a significant transformation when it was acquired by the wealthy manufacturer and soap boiler Franz Rottels, who converted it into a residence for his family. Behind the property, his soap production facility was also located at that time. Since summer 2004, Haus Rottels has served as the location for the Rhenish Shooting Museum Neuss and the Joseph Lange Shooting Archive. Both institutions are managed by scientific staff and are part of the “Stiftung Rheinisches Schützenmuseum Neuss mit Joseph-Lange-Schützenarchiv”, in which the City of Neuss, the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, and the Neusser Bürger-Schützen-Verein are involved.
