Haus Schneidhausen, a manor and estate, is situated on the Kreuzau millpond in Schneidhausen, a district of Kreuzau. Located in the Düren district of North Rhine-Westphalia, the property was built in the 18th century and originally served as a residence with an attached iron cutting mill.

History+

The construction of the rubble stone building complex was carried out in 1743 by Leonhard Hoesch, an ironworks owner. Hoesch had already received the concession for the iron cutting mill in 1742. The iron anchors of the house still bear the initials of the building couple and the year of construction. The name Schneidhausen is derived from the former iron cutting mill. Leonhard's son, Hugo Ludolf Hoesch, later expanded the complex with a paper and an oil mill.
