The origins of the Schulte-Witten family, who gave this estate its name, can be traced back to 1394. Archaeological investigations have revealed that a predecessor building existed on this site, dating to the Thirty Years' War. The current manor house was constructed in 1880. The family once owned lands in the Dorstfeld region, which they sold to mining companies during the rise of industrialization.
