The former noble residence Haus Sevinghausen characterizes the district of the same name in Bochum-Wattenscheid. This manor and estate house was once a knightly estate in the province of Westphalia.
History+
The first lords of Sevinghausen were documented as early as 1322. The property was still counted among the estates eligible for the provincial parliament in Westphalia in 1832. Haus Sevinghausen passed through the hands of various noble families. In 1682, it was owned by a woman von Wenge, and around 1800, Clemens August von Geismar and his wife Bernardina von Berswort resided there.
