Sölde Manor

The origins of Haus Sölde date back to the 13th century when it was built as a knight's estate and was under the feudal lordship of the Lords of Volmarstein. In 1402, the property passed into the possession of the Lords of Hövel zu Sölde. The estate included eleven farms and cottages in Sölde. In 1839, Baron von Hövel sold his possessions, including Haus Sölde, to Carl Overweg from Iserlohn. He, in turn, sold it two years later, in 1841, to Caspar H. Neuhoff called Schulze-Dellwig. His descendants operated Haus Sölde as a large agricultural enterprise until the 1980s.
