In Krefeld-Bockum, Haus Sollbrüggen is a historic manor and estate house, with origins dating back to the Middle Ages. Once a moated knight's estate, it now presents itself as a classical country seat housing a music school.

History+

The first mention of the Sollbrüggen estate occurred in the 12th century. Following a fire in 1781, the complex was rebuilt. The gatehouse, still preserved today, dates from this period. The north and south wings were added in the 19th century. Around 1840, the property was redesigned in the classical style for silk manufacturer Peter de Greiff, with plans likely attributed to Adolph von Vagedes. Since 1925, Haus Sollbrüggen has been owned by the city of Krefeld and has served as the location for the music school since 1955.
