In Radebeul, Haus Sorgenfrei is a manor house built in the late 18th century in the Dresden Zopfstil. Named "Sorgenfrei" (Carefree) as a nod to Potsdam's Sanssouci Palace.

History+

The origins of the estate date back to the early 18th century, when a vineyard was located here. In 1770, it came into the possession of the merchant Albert Friedrich Gregory. His son, the Dresden banker Christian Friedrich von Gregory, had the current ensemble built between 1783 and 1789 in the Dresden Zopfstil, incorporating parts of the previous building. Gregory expanded the property, including the acquisition of further vineyards.
