Haus Spiek was built in the 18th century on the walls of an old moated castle.

The history of Haus Spiek dates back to the Middle Ages. The original moated castle, of which only a few foundation walls remain today, served as a strategic stronghold. Over the centuries, it changed hands multiple times, witnessing various conflicts and eras.

In the 18th century, the then owner decided to demolish the dilapidated castle and erect a new, more comfortable manor house on its foundations. This new building, Haus Spiek as we know it today, reflects the architectural style of that period, characterized by its elegant simplicity and functional design.

Haus Spiek is a two-story brick building with a hipped roof. The facade is adorned with subtle decorative elements, including sandstone window frames and a prominent entrance portal. Inside, the house boasts spacious rooms with high ceilings, original wooden floors, and intricate stucco work.

A particular highlight is the grand staircase, which leads to the upper floor and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding park. The house also features several fireplaces, each with unique designs, adding to the historical ambiance.

Surrounding Haus Spiek is a sprawling park, meticulously designed in the 19th century. It features ancient trees, winding paths, and a picturesque pond. The park is home to a variety of plant species, some of which are rare and protected.
