Haus Steinhausen in Dortmund-Holzen is a historic manor and estate house, whose origins trace back to a moated castle. It is located near the Westhofener Kreuz and the A1 motorway.

History+

The first documented mention of Haus Steinhausen as a knight's seat of the Reichshof Westhofen dates to the 15th century. In February 1672, the complex suffered severe destruction during the Franco-Dutch War when French troops under Marshal Turenne used the frozen moat to conquer and burn the castle. Reconstruction began around 1700. After renovations in the 1990s, the manor house was again severely damaged by a fire in 1999.
