Weiherhof Manor

First mentioned in the 14th century, Weiherhof initially belonged to Schwarzenbroich Abbey, which acquired it in 1492. The abbey used the property, then also known as Pfaffenhof, for fish farming and created eight ponds for this purpose. Around 1750, the estate passed to Adam Wilhelm Schellart of Burg Obbendorf. Due to financial difficulties, the Schellart family was forced to auction Weiherhof in 1767, after which Wenau Abbey acquired the estate along with extensive forest holdings. In 1802, during the secularization under Napoleon, Weiherhof came into the possession of the Schillings family. In the early 1920s, Baron von Bennigsen acquired the property, before it passed to the Schoeller family in 1924. Today, it is owned by Christa Schüll, née Schoeller.
