Wenge Manor

Haus Wenge was built in the 13th century by Goswin and Johann von der Wenge. This knight's seat served as the ancestral home of the noble family von der Wenge, who were later elevated to the countship as von der Wenge genannt Lambsdorff. In the 16th century, the current two-story manor house with its stepped gable made of brick and stone cross windows was constructed, preserving its Gothic forms despite later alterations. After its destruction by Spanish troops in 1598, the house was rebuilt, maintaining its exterior appearance while the interior was redesigned in the Baroque style. In the early 19th century, further structural adjustments were made to the portal and fireplaces.
