Weyenberg Manor

A Katharina Wayenberg already lived in 1319. Haus Weyenberg is first mentioned in 1524, when Johann von Hoenkirch (Hohenkirchen), bailiff of Randerrath, sued Bartholomäus Mutzhagen, the provisor of the hospital in Aachen, before the Imperial Chamber Court for the payment of an hereditary rent from the Weyenbergs-Hof near Aachen. Around 1775, Marcellus Blees from Aachen is named as the owner of Weyenberg. The existing building was constructed in the 18th century and rebuilt in the 19th century. The narrow, gabled brick house is whitewashed. The two-story residential building is structured in two by five window axes with high bluestone surrounds. One axis was added later. At the rear is an octagonal pavilion. The house is covered by a gable roof. A part of the formerly associated park and the gate posts have been preserved.
