Havixhorst (Manor)
Havixhorst Manor, near the municipality of Meppel in the Dutch province of Drenthe, is a historic estate that has preserved its character as a private country house.
History+
The first documented mention of Havixhorst dates to 1371. Until the 17th century, the estate was owned by the Van den Clooster family. Subsequently, it passed to the Van Munster family. In 1658, Johan de Vos van Steenwijk acquired the manor, and his descendants resided there until 1956. Afterwards, ownership fell to two nieces from the Van Mourik family, who sold Havixhorst in 1963.

Havixhorst is located in the municipality of Meppel, in the province of Drenthe, in the northern Netherlands. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 10 meters above sea level.
