In Schleswig, Heespens Hof is a palace built in the 18th century as a residence.

History+

The residence was built in 1754 for the Privy Councillor Christian Friedrich von Heespen, who also owned the estates of Hemmelmark and Deutsch-Nienhof. The furnishings, especially the staircase and stucco work, reflect the courtly style of the time. In the 19th century, the palace became the property of the President of the Government, Ludwig Nikolaus von Scheele, which is why it was also known as Scheele's Palace.
