History of the Castle+
The castle was built in the 14th century by the Counts of Helfenstein as a two-wing complex. The first documented mention occurred around 1380. From 1396 to 1635, the castle served as the seat of the Ulm bailiffs. From 1635 to 1810, the castle housed the Weights and Measures Office and the Tax Office. From 1810 to 1995, the castle served as the Camera and Finance Office. Since 1995, offices of the City of Geislingen have been located in the castle.
