Alster Manor
In the municipality of Karlstad on the outskirts of the city of the same name, Alster Manor is a country house in Sweden. It now serves as a museum dedicated to the life and work of the poet Gustav Fröding.
History+
The first documented mention of the Alster estate dates back to 1397. After a fire destroyed the original building in 1760, a new structure was erected on the same site. In 1839, the manor underwent renovations in the neoclassical style, based on designs by architect Johan Fredrik Åbom.
