In the village of Bergen, part of the town Wanzleben-Börde, is Herrenhaus Bergen, a historic manor and estate.

History+

The origins of the estate in Bergen predate its acquisition by the Teutonic Order in 1272, or according to other sources, 1285. The Order established a commandery here. From 1570, Hans von Lossow resided on the property as commander. During the Thirty Years' War, the estate was temporarily under Swedish control but later returned to the Order's possession, which remained the owner until 1806. After several changes of ownership, around 1900, the estate belonged to the sugar manufacturers Rabbethge. In 1945, the then-owners were dispossessed by the communists.
