Bockum Manor (Bockum)

The first documented mention of the Bockum estate dates back to 1398, when it was owned by the Bockum family. Later, it changed hands through an exchange with the Weslarn knight's estate to the Wesseler family. A subsequent owner adopted the name von Bockum-Dolffs. Further owners included the von Kleinsorgen and von Papen families, before it belonged to the von Schade family until 1841. After the childless death of Baron Joseph von Schade, he bequeathed the property to his niece, Theresia von Schade. She married Baron Johann von Devivere in 1841, who later became district administrator of Meschede. Today, the estate is owned by the Dameris family.
