On the site of today's park, from the 15th century until 1740, there was a moated castle, which was probably a fief of the Neuenheerse Abbey. This castle was demolished. Around 1850, the current manor house of the von Kanne family was built.
The building received its current form with a mansard roof, grand staircase, and paved forecourt in 1919. The estate is still run as an agricultural business today.
Park
In the park, immediately east of the manor house, there is a former chapel, completely overgrown with ivy and unused. A little further from the house is the new chapel, which was also created in 1919 by converting a bathhouse.
In the park, overgrown with ivy, lies the "Jungfernstein" (Maiden's Stone), which was originally positioned at the entrance. At the edge of the park is a family burial plot with an enclosure made of shaped, permeable bricks.
