Elze Manor

The original manor house was owned by the Lords Bock von Wülflingen in the 13th century. In 1735, the manor burned down and was subsequently rebuilt.

In 1852, the manor was acquired by the brewer Georg Bube. He established a brewery and a malt house on the premises. The brewery quickly gained a good reputation and expanded continuously.

The Bube family played a significant role in the development of the brewery. Georg Bube's son, Johann Bube, took over the business in 1880 and modernized it. He introduced new brewing techniques and expanded the product range.

During the two World Wars, the brewery faced difficult times. Production had to be temporarily halted, and raw material shortages posed major challenges. After the wars, the brewery was rebuilt and modernized again.

The building is characterized by its impressive architecture, which combines elements from different eras. The original manor house from the 13th century is still recognizable in parts, while the additions from the 18th and 19th centuries give the building its unique character.

The main building is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof. It features an imposing facade with decorative elements and large windows. Inside, there are spacious rooms with high ceilings and historic details.

The former brewery buildings are located directly adjacent to the main building. They are characterized by their functional architecture, which was designed for the brewing process. Here, you can still find historic brewing kettles and other equipment.

The building complex includes a spacious courtyard and a charming garden. The courtyard was formerly used for deliveries and as a gathering place for brewery employees. The garden offers a tranquil retreat with old trees and various plants.

Today, the historic building is used for various purposes. Parts of the building are rented out as offices and commercial spaces, while other areas are used for cultural events and exhibitions.

The building has developed into a vibrant cultural center. Regular concerts, readings, and art exhibitions take place here. The historic ambiance provides a unique setting for these events.

A restaurant and a café are also located in the building, offering visitors culinary delights. Here, you can enjoy regional specialties and freshly brewed beer in a historic atmosphere.

In the future, further renovation and modernization measures are planned to preserve the building for future generations. The aim is to further expand the cultural offerings and make the building accessible to an even wider audience.

Renovation of the Brewery Buildings

The former brewery buildings are to be renovated and converted into event spaces. This will create additional space for concerts, conferences, and private celebrations.

Expansion of the Garden Area

The garden area is to be redesigned and made more attractive. New seating areas, walking paths, and a playground for children are planned.

Digitalization of the Archives

The extensive archives of the brewery are to be digitized and made accessible to the public. This will allow interested parties to learn more about the history of the building and the Bube family.
