Amidst the open fields between Bedburg and Kirchtroisdorf, the manor house Etgendorf, a listed secular building, stands. The complex is characterized by its moated, enclosed quadrangular form.

History+

The origins of the Etgendorf estate date back: as early as 1216, it was owned by the Premonstratensian monastery of Reichenstein. From the end of the 15th century, the estate was leased in hereditary tenancy. It experienced a period from 1673 to 1862, when it was owned by the Simonius called Ritz family. The current manor house, a brick building with two stories and a high hip roof, was constructed in 1605 for the Jülich councilor Peter Simonius. It features mullioned windows with trachyte frames.
