Farve Manor

The origins of the Farve estate lie in a medieval castle complex belonging to the Pogwisch family. In 1480, this castle was destroyed by King Christian I of Denmark after Henning Pogwisch came into conflict with the monarch. At the beginning of the 16th century, the descendants of the Pogwisch family erected a new castle, which formed the core of the present manor house. The estate remained in the possession of the Pogwischs until 1662, when it passed by inheritance to the von Blome family. After a brief interlude under the Counts of Holstein, Farve returned to Blome ownership in 1749 through marriage.
