Frauenmark Manor

The manor was owned by the von Schönberg family since 1407. Ownership changed in 1682 to Baron C. von Forstner, in 1780 to Hereditary Prince Friedrich Franz I. of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, in 1824 to Justus von Unger, in 1832 to Luise von der Sode (who had the current manor house built in 1860), in 1913 to Otto Rieck, and from 1916 until its forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 to Clemens von Doetinchem de Rande. Thereafter, it served as a nursing home until 1992.

The manor house is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof. The central risalit on the garden side is particularly striking, featuring a balcony and a triangular gable. The building's facade is adorned with various decorative elements, reflecting the architectural style of its construction period.

Current Use and Future Plans

After standing empty for several years, the manor house was acquired by a private investor in 2005. Extensive renovation work began in 2007, aiming to restore the building to its former glory. The plans include converting the manor house into a boutique hotel with a restaurant and event facilities. The surrounding park, which was also neglected for decades, is being revitalized to complement the grandeur of the manor house.
