To the left of the Fulda, opposite Fuldabrück - Bergshausen, lies the Freienhagen estate. Freienhagen on the Fulda was already mentioned in 1346 as Vryenhein, in 1378 as Frigenhagin, and in 1486 as Freyehagen.
