To be privately owned
Friedelhausen Manor (Lollar)

The Friedelhausen Estate is a listed knightly estate, founded in 1564 by Friedrich von Rolshausen. It is located on the Lahn river between the university cities of Marburg and Giessen. Today it is owned by the von Schwerin family in Londorf. In 1982, the estate was leased by the "Hofgemeinschaft für heilende Arbeit e.V." (Estate Community for Healing Work). Until then, most of the residential and farm buildings had been unused for years and were consequently dilapidated. The former splendor of the complex was barely discernible.
However, the initiators of the project found this place suitable for realizing the idea of a social-therapeutic community. According to the goals of the association, the living and working community was to develop on the basis of Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy and, in particular, implement the principles of landscape protection and soil fertility inherent in biodynamic farming. The long agricultural tradition in Friedelhausen now forms the basis of the multifaceted working life.
With the founding of the Estate Community, the focus of the operation was expanded to include social work. At the Friedelhausen Estate, social work is now combined with ecological production and craftsmanship. People with reduced capabilities can participate in working life according to their abilities within this framework.
The sponsoring association "Hofgemeinschaft für heilende Arbeit e.V." provides the legal framework in which an intact, social coexistence of people with and without disabilities can develop.
