Groß Engershausen Manor (Preußisch Oldendorf)

The Groß-Engershausen Estate is a manor house in the Engershausen district of the city of Preußisch Oldendorf in the Minden-Lübbecke district. It has been owned by the von Spiegel family since 1838 and is not publicly accessible. Nearby is the Klein-Engershausen Estate.

The estate is located north of the Wiehen Hills and south of the Mittelland Canal on the northern edge of the Alsweder Depression.

To the northwest lies the center of Preußisch Oldendorf.

Between 1491 and 1510, the Engershausen knight's estate was established. The builder was the bailiff of Limburg, Reinecke II von Schloen, known as Tribbe, who also owned the Figenburg. After the von Schloen family died out in 1671, the Hessian von Berner family became the owners. In 1838, the von Berner family sold the estate to the von Spiegel zu Desenberg-Rothenburg family. Through inheritance, it then passed to Baron von Spiegel von und zu Peckelsheim zu Bielefeld Spiegelsberge.
