Hedwigsruh Manor was built at the beginning of the 18th century. The house is now used as a residence.
The Builder and First Owners
The manor was commissioned by the wealthy merchant family von Billerbeck, who had acquired significant wealth through trade in textiles and spices. The family sought to express their social ascent through a representative building.
Architectural Features
The building is a prime example of Baroque architecture. It features a symmetrical facade, richly decorated window frames, and a prominent main portal. Inside, impressive stucco ceilings and wall paintings from the period have been preserved.
