Hohen Luckow Manor

The manor house was built in 1707 by Christoph von Bassewitz. After 1810, the estate changed hands several times before passing into the possession of the von Brocken family from 1840. Until 1918, it served as a feudal estate and was assigned to the knighthood in the Bukow district. In 1888, the estate comprised an agricultural area of over 1,000 hectares. After its expropriation in 1945, it was nationalized and served as the administrative building of a state-owned farm. In 1994, it was reprivatized and acquired by Adolf Merckle, who restored it. In 2007, the manor house hosted an informal dinner for heads of state and government during the G8 summit in Heiligendamm.
