Kaden Manor

The first documented mention of Gut Kaden occurred in 1377. Originally owned by the Knights of Alverslo, the estate passed to the Reventlow family around 1400 and later to the Danish King Christian I. In 1496, the Ahlefeld family acquired the estate, which remained in their possession for over 250 years. Around 1532, a first manor house was built. Following financial difficulties of the Ahlefeldts, the estate passed to the von Schilden family in 1754, who had a new manor house constructed. In the 19th century, it came into the possession of the Counts of Platen-Hallermund, under whom the building was redesigned and extended by one floor between 1864 and 1870. At the end of the 20th century, the estate was sold and converted into a golf club.
