Katelbogen Manor

The manor is first mentioned in 1348 as being owned by Theze von Zernin and was used as a robber baron's castle in the late Middle Ages. In 1549, ownership passed to Jürgen Wackerbarth, the provost of Bützow. In 1631, Jürgen Wackerbarth pledged the Katelbogen estate, including Sagsdorf, to the Rostock citizen Joachim Lohrmann. Shortly thereafter, the Wackerbarths definitively lost possession. From 1662 to 1798, with a brief interruption, the estate was owned by the von Plessen family, followed by the von Plüskow family, and since 1856 by the Jasmund family. The current manor house was built in 1898 for Fritz von Voß, who had owned the estate since 1895. Later, ownership passed to Baron von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen, who was dispossessed and expelled by the communists in 1945. Between 1956 and 1991, an agricultural vocational school with a boarding school was operated in the manor house. In the following years, the building was privatized twice. Apartments and holiday accommodations were created in the manor house.
