Kilver Manor (Rödinghausen)

In Rödinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, stands Kilver Manor House, a manor whose origins date back to the 9th century. It gave its name to the surrounding villages of Ostkilver and Westkilver.

The first written mention of Haus Kilver, then known as "Villa Kilveri," dates back to 851. It was presumably established a few decades earlier as a royal court of the Franks, who appointed count palatines to administer the conquered territories after the Saxon Wars. In the document from 851, Louis the German gifted the manor to the convent in Herford. Among the owners was the Vincke family, who owned the estate from 1771 to 1820.

Kilver Manor House is located in Rödinghausen in the district of Herford, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, at an elevation of approximately 117 meters above sea level.
