Klein-Engershausen Manor (Preußisch Oldendorf)

Gut Klein-Engershausen (rarely also: Ober-Engershausen) is a manor house in Preußisch Oldendorf-Engershausen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Nearby is Gut Groß-Engershausen.

The beginnings of the estate are obscure. However, Klein-Engershausen was probably built significantly before Groß-Engershausen, already in the 14th century, on the northern edge of the village. Its development from a farm is likely. The manor house of the estate, located close to the present-day village center, is surrounded by a moat. The farmyard is located externally on Engershauser Straße. The manor house, framed by a small park landscape, was rebuilt in 1753 as a single-story half-timbered building with a high hip roof. Whether Groß- and Klein-Engershausen ever had the same owner is unclear. Some sources speak of Others name Johann von Sloer, who is said to have owned both estates around 1491. In addition to von Sloer, the von Hasfurts and the Lords and Barons von Venningen are mentioned as further owners of the estate, which is still in private hands today.
