The origins of Knabstrup Manor stretch back far, even before the year 1288. In that year, Niels Henriksen was recorded as the first known owner of the estate. Over the centuries, the manor house frequently changed hands. Its current appearance was given to the manor between 1861 and 1862, when it was rebuilt under the direction of architect Vilhelm Dahlerup.
