Kurzen Trechow Manor

The origins of the current manor house lie in a 12th-century moated castle. This was replaced in the 16th century by a new building made of fieldstone masonry, which largely survived the Thirty Years' War unscathed. Around 1800 to about 1814, the current two-story manor house was erected on the foundations of its predecessors. Under the direction of the Schwerin stable master Johann von Plüskow, it was given a partially early classicist style, incorporating elements of the early Renaissance predecessor. A stair tower and two volute gables were removed, and the roof was transformed into a hip roof. The von Plessen family owned the estate from 1847 until 1945.
