Early History
The exact date of construction of the building is not precisely documented, but it is assumed that parts of the current structure date back to the early 14th century. Originally, it probably served as a fortified residence for a local noble family.
18th and 19th Centuries
In the 18th century, the building underwent significant alterations and extensions, which gave it its present appearance. At this time, it was owned by various noble families, including the influential families von Riesch and von Schwarzenberg, who used it as a representative manor house.
20th Century to Today
In 1926, the building was acquired by Baroness von Kittlich, who carried out extensive renovations. After the Second World War, it was expropriated in 1945 and converted into apartments, which are still partially inhabited today. Despite the various changes in use, the building has retained much of its historic charm and is an important witness to the city's past.
