In the Altenburger Land region of Thuringia is Lumpzig Manor House, an estate house that has now found a new purpose.

History+

The first documented mention of the locality Lumpzig, then known as Lomzke, dates back to 1140 in a charter by Bishop Udo I of Naumburg. Later, in 1291, a Heinrius de Lumpzhicz appeared in records. Originally, the place belonged to the von Ende family from Kayna and presumably consisted only of a farmstead with a sheepfold. The current manor house was built in 1668 under the patronage of Heinrich Hildebrand von Einsiedel.
