Lumpzig Manor

Lumpzig Manor

Nursing home

The place is first mentioned in a document by Bishop Udo I of Naumburg in 1140 as Lomzke. A Heinrius de Lumpzhicz is mentioned in 1291. The place belonged to the von Ende family from Kayna and probably consisted only of an outwork with a sheep farm. In 1668, the present manor house was built by Heinrich Hildebrand von Einsiedel, which was used as a nursing home from 1948 to 2007. The associated manor passed into bourgeois ownership in 1798. In 1935, it had an area of 137 hectares. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
