Mahrhof Manor (Hückelhoven)

The four-winged brick complex was originally built around 1578, with a vaulted cellar and the two-story gatehouse likely dating from the same period. Mahrhof was initially part of the neighboring Haus Hall. Through a testamentary division of property by Heinrich von Olmissen called Mülstroe, Mahrhof passed to his son Gotthard von Olmissen called Mülstroe, who built the manor house in 1578. The family, though of reformed faith, held a hereditary burial right in the Catholic church of Ratheim, which was later legally denied. The estate came into the possession of the von Zandt family in 1831. After a fire in 1883, the current two-story residential building was re-erected on the old foundations.
