Mannschatz Manor

The history of the manor house is long and eventful. It probably served as a knight's seat as early as the 10th/11th century. The first documented mention of the owners, Jenchinus and Seyfert von Zeschau, dates back to 1399. In 1407, Hanns von Zeschau is named as the owner, followed by Nicol Meißner in 1480. In 1520, Lborius Meißner is mentioned as the owner, and in 1522, Hieronymus von Leimbach.

In 1676, the property is first referred to as a manor (Rittergut) and is owned by the von Witzleben family. In 1817, a Mr. Steiger purchased the estate. The current manor house was built in the 18th century.

From 1838 to 1945, the Gadegast family owned the property. In 1945, it was expropriated and used as housing for resettlers, then as a fodder storage. By November 2003, the building was a ruin.
