The manor house was built in the first half of the 19th century on the site of a former moated castle. The barn wing from the first half of the 19th century has been partially modernized today. Outside the 4-winged complex are the former bakehouse as a southern annex, an underground wine cellar, probably 18th century, and garden areas with a sundial.
The complex is surrounded by moats, some of which have dried up in recent years. Haus Muchhausen is significant for human history, the settlement history of the municipality of Rommerskirchen, and for labor and production conditions. Scientific, urban planning, art historical, folk art historical, and ethnographic reasons speak for its preservation.
