Muthagen Manor (Geilenkirchen)

The first documented mention of the estate occurred in 1292 in connection with Christian von Muthagen. After 1400, ownership passed to Gryn von Aldenhoven, followed by Thewis von dem Balken in 1452, and Seitz von Horrich between 1460 and 1470. In the 16th century, Qurin von Brempt (1515), Franz von Ferken (1593), and Adam von Hochkirchen (1593) were the owners. In the 17th century, Wallraf von Schaellert (1608) and the von Hülsberg family (1618) took possession of the estate. In 1740, Muthagen came into the hands of the Counts of Goltstein, who sold it in 1820 to Mr. Fremery from Eupen. Later, a Mr. Meyers was listed as owner.
