Ohorn Manor

The name Ohorn first appeared in the feudal register of Frederick the Strict in 1349. There was a long dispute about the village near Pulsnitz due to its affiliation. Eventually, Ohorn remained divided into two lordships. One side belonged to Lusatia, the other to Meissen. The manor house stood on the Lusatian side. The manor house dates from the 18th century and was initially a simple, two-story building. It was not until 1890 that the house received its central risalit with an ornamental gable and other alterations, such as a balcony-crowned columned portico on the garden side. In 1945, the manor was divided among new farmers, and in 1949, an SED party school was established. Today, the manor house houses a senior citizens' residence.
