Osterwohle Manor

The origins of Osterwohle date back to 1375, when it was recorded in Emperor Charles IV's land register with four free farms. In 1499, Fritz von der Schulenburg, a member of the ninth generation of his family, was enfeoffed with the local castle. He and his descendants successively acquired the surrounding farms, giving rise to the Osterwohle estate. This estate, which included a 538-hectare forest called Trippleben, remained in the possession of the von der Schulenburg family until 1945. The current manor house was built after 1430.
