Pension for school children

Herrenhaus Reichwalde, a historic manor and estate house in Saxony, dates back to the 14th century. Once owned by noble families and briefly part of the Muskau dominion, it now serves as a school country home.

History+

The origins of the settlement of Reichwalde, designed as a village square, suggest a German foundation in the 13th century. The first documented mention of the place occurred in 1364. By 1394, a knight's estate was traceable in Reichwalde, which belonged to the von Metzradt family in 1399. In 1804, Ludwig Reichsgraf von Pückler, father of the later Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, acquired the estate. This made Reichwalde part of the Muskau dominion for the second time, after Kurt Reinicke von Callenberg had briefly owned the estate around 1650.
