Herrenhaus Renkhausen in Lübbecke is a manor house whose roots trace back to the 13th century. Originally built as a moated castle, it was redesigned in the Neo-Renaissance style and was owned by various noble families.

History+

The first documented mention of the Renkhausen estate dates back to 1278, having been built on the foundations of an earlier moated castle. Between 1543 and 1817, the property changed hands multiple times through inheritance and purchase, belonging to five different noble families, including the Lords of Mentzingen for a period. In 1817, the Stille family from Lübbecke acquired the estate, before it was sold again around 1960.
