Herrenhaus Röhrentrup, a historic manor and estate house, is located in the Lippe region of North Rhine-Westphalia. Originally conceived as a fortified farmstead, it was completely surrounded by water.

History+

The origins of the estate likely date back to the 12th century, when a fortified farmstead was built here. In the Middle Ages, this served to protect people, animals, and provisions during times of danger. The estate building gained historical significance at the beginning of the 17th century, when the territorial lords of Lippe and the city of Lemgo settled important religious matters in what became known as the Röhrentrup Recess.
