Roest Manor

The origins of Roest Manor date back to 1231, when an earlier castle complex was mentioned in King Waldemar's cadastral book. The property changed hands multiple times, including the Lembeck and Split families. A defining era began in 1498 with its acquisition by Schack Rumohr, whose family owned the estate for nearly 300 years. Asmus von Rumohr had the oldest part of the current manor house built in 1590, while his grandson Heinrich added the left wing in 1641. A mural from 1640 in the knight's hall depicts a squire on a falcon hunt. In 1667, Detlef von Rumohr took over the estate.
