Herrenhaus Rosenthal is located in the Rosenthal district of Peine, Lower Saxony. It was built on historical foundations, combining the history of a former castle complex with 19th-century architecture.

History+

The origins of Rosenthal date back to 1240, when Bishop Konrad II, according to the Hildesheim Chronicle, had a castle and town built and fortified. As early as 1255, this complex was captured and destroyed during conflicts between Albrecht I of Brunswick-Lüneburg and Bishop Heinrich I of Hildesheim.
