The origins of Severin Manor date back to the 1880s. Günther Quandt owned the property until its expropriation and his expulsion in 1945. In 1931, the manor was the scene of the wedding celebrations of Quandt's ex-wife Magda and Joseph Goebbels, who had previously married in the village church of Severin.
